It will be held on July 4th at 3PM. We are meeting at Pastor David's parents house in Garden Grove. The cost is $5 for some awesome food and fellowship. We are also welcoming up the new primers from the Route-28 ministry during this fellowship. For question, please contact pastor David Kim. Summer Devotions During the summer of 2009, Living Hope Community Church invites all of the HomeBuilders and Primers to participate in a summer of devotions. We invite all of the cell groups to form men/women small groups to gather for the purpose of meeting God through daily devotions. In order to be trained in doing devotions with the Life Journal, come with your small group on any of the following Wednesday evenings (July 1, 8, 22, 29, August 5, 12 or 19) from 8:00 to 9:00 pm to. Pastor Steve or David will lead our group times. Your cell group shepherds will contact you regarding the evening which you will come to the Summer Devotions. If you do not have a cell group, please contact pastorsteve@livinghopecc.org or pastordavid@livinghopecc.org. * Some Cell Groups are choosing to read In His Steps by Charles Sheldon. Vacation Bible School - July 14-17 This year we will take your children to an extreme adventure camp where they Experience and Discover God Everywhere! Camp E.D.G.E. is not your typical stroll through the woods. It's an action-packed, adrenaline-filled expedition that teaches kids their strength and might come from God. Through rockin' contemporary music, larger-than-life recreation games, mind-boggling science activities, extreme sports videos, and cool, challenging crafts, you'll show your kids how to live on the E.D.G.E. in their faith. Camp E.D.G.E. will offer fun and memorable faith building activities for children 3 years old (by 9/1/09) to 6th grade. We will receive a brief update on our building project, receive a new picture directory and receive the budget report. All members are encouraged to attend. Route-28 CSI - July & August The Route-28 Ministry, in conjunction with Crossroads Campus Ministries, invite college age students to a series of high level training called CSI (College Summer Institute). We have invited a select group of teachers (Greg Koukl, Rick Langer, John Kwak, etc.) who can speak authoritatively on very relevant issues such as "The New Atheists," "Christian Exclusivity," and "Literalism." Interested VOLUNTEERS should contact Helen Chang or Patty Chun. * KKC: The Kingdom Kids Club is looking for extra support staff. If you are interested in helping out with Praise or serving in any other area, please contact Min Lee ASAP. Sunday Intercessory Prayer Beginning June 7th, Sunday Service prayer is back and in full effect! We would like to invite ALL members of the church to join alongside the Prayer Team as we ask of God our requests in order that we may receive. Prayer will take place during second service in the backroom adjacent to the AV team (enter from the grass area). Church Prayer Requests Praise God for our new college director, Tim Pak. Tim & Sako Pak will arrive and start in the middle of July. Pray for Jeanne Baeg as she leaves for East Asia on June 26 for the summer. Pray that God would use VBS to impact the lives of many children from Living Hope and from the community. Pray for those who are strategizing and forming the new Compassion Ministry. Pray that God would give them the right hearts and mind. Pray that God would send a few to the ministry to form a core group. Please pray for the Route-28 Ministry as they: - Transition from Tim Yu to their new college director Tim Pak - Co-Sponsors the CSI: College Summer Institute - Trains a group to be the nucleus of the ministry Our Family Camp is just around the corner. Please pray for a Spirit-filled and life transforming retreat this year. Pray that collectively as a church, we can become more intimate with God through summer devotions. Pray that the elders and building committee task force would wisely guide our church into this next phase of implementation.
