Hello. My name is Helen Chang and I'm the director for the
Nursery Ministry, here at LHCC. I've been attending Living Hope for
about 5 years. We chose Living Hope as a family church
because of the leadership, Bible-based teaching, children's
ministry, and the nursery/toddler ministry. We have two
daughters, 8 and 5 years old. When we came to Living Hope,
our youngest, Hannah was eleven month. She was one of the
five babies/toddlers in the class. The ministry was led by
Debbie Minyard. With the help of 2-3 moms, they ministered
to our babies. I really felt that they were more than
capable to care for my child's needs and I felt comfortable
leaving her with them.
We have
changed a lot since a few years ago. We now have a
separate nursery and toddler ministries. Each of the class
consists and average of 8-14 children. In the nursery, we
started our prayer ministry with the babies. Our staff and
volunteers pray for our babies every Sunday. We even have
little stickers that says" My nursery teacher prayed for me
today." We really believe that we not only love our babies,
provide the basic care, but also provide prayer for the
child and their families. We believe that it really brings
the family and church staff together.
Please continue to pray that God will equip us with loving
and servant attitudes so that we may continue to serve our
Lord and Savior, faithfully. I just want to say thanks to my
wonderful staff and all the wonderful, loving volunteers who
serve so faithful every Sunday. God bless you all.

The Toddlers Ministry strives to nurture God's little
ones who are between the ages of 18 - 36 months, or the 1.5
to 3 year olds. We have a director (Helen Yoon) and and a wonderful team of
teacher assistants. There is a minimum of
4 adults in the classroom at all times with the children. We
also have other enthusiastic helpers who come by to help as
needed. If you love God and you love to interact with kids,
we would love to have you as a teacher assistant!
We minister to the children during the 11:00 service so that
the parents have an opportunity to worship together with
other parents knowing that their children are in a safe and
nurturing environment. While the parents are in the service,
the toddlers are enjoying play time, story time, and snack
time in their own classroom.
During our time together, the directors and teacher
assistants strive to plant a seed of God's love in the young
toddlers' hearts. They begin to learn about God's love
through kind interaction with other children and adults
during play time, listening to short biblical stories and/or
singing songs, coloring, and praying together before snack
time.
Goals:
1) To strive for every toddler to fold their hands correctly
when praying before snack time.
2) To model God's love by nurturing and caring for our
toddlers.
3) Learn and incorporate 2 new songs which the children can
learn and sing.
