I was going to try to write something profound, but that takes too much thinking. Writing a "from the heart" should be more natural shouldn't it? So I'm going to steal a page from Paul's second epistle to the Thessalonians, and simply say thank you to those who have been on my heart.
I finished my internship a few months ago. I spent almost a year rotating through the different ministries at Living Hope. I got to see so much. I wanted to take this opportunity to publicly thank some of those who serve our church so faithfully.
Starting with good ol' nursery. Thank you for helping me realize I love love love babies and also thank you Helen and the gang for welcoming the awkward guy who doesn't know what to do with babies.
Toddlers… what a pivotal ministry! The kids are now self-aware, the parents are gone, and it is you who are there! No other staff has to work more with so many crying kids, so thank you!
KKC pre-school… I go to you every Sunday during second service, watching the staff faithfully hard at work, while I get to play with the kids! Thank you!
KKC K-6… your kids know their Bible better than I do, and they surely have memorized more verses! What a blessing! Kingdom Kids Club, thank you for reminding me weekly of the words of C.S Lewis who said "there is nothing more childish than trying not to be childish…"
Catapult staff… you accept nothing but excellence and yet are humble and fearful before God. Catapult students are truly blessed to have a fun staff like you. Thank you!
I also want to thank a few others who aren't part of the CE department.
A/V team… What you do week in and week out simply baffles me. You are one of the first to arrive and the last to leave. Thank you.
Praise team…See the above.
Hospitality… Last week we got a glimpse of what could happen if you weren't there, a bunch of frazzled Living Hopers desperate for coffee… So thank you!
Welcoming team… I'm including Richard K. In here… You are faithful with the tedious… compiling hundreds of bulletins and hundreds of announcements weekly, among other things… thanks!
Pastoral Staff… It's an honor and privilege to serve, serve with, and be served by you. Thank You
Whew long list! And there’s so many more I don't have room to list off. I’m sure you’ve all heard Pastor Steve say again and again..."we just have good people…" Pastor Steve, I couldn’t agree more…Thank God for you all.
2 Thessalonians 1:3…"We ought always to give thanks to God for you, brothers, as is right, because your faith is growing abundantly, and the love of every one of you for one another is increasing."
