Regarding Membership . . .

A church is more than a place to go on Sundays.  It’s a spiritual family.  And to maximize one’s participation, involvement and appreciation for the church, they need to become fully a part of it. At Living Hope Community Church, we have instituted a membership process for people to learn about the church and for the church to learn about the person.

There are two basic questions to ask yourself as you become a member of Living Hope.  Do you know Christ?  Can you adopt yourself to the spiritual family of Living Hope?  Prayerfully consider this decision and feel free to talk with any of the pastors or the person in charge of the membership committee. We believe that every Christian should be an integral part of a church family.  Join us.

To Become a Member . . .

1.  Please fill out the membership application.

You can fill out the online application and print it out.  You can also use the printed application on the membership brochure.  You will need to set up an interview with one of the leaders of the church.  A leader's signature is required for the completion of membership application.  If you are applying for membership together with your spouse, please fill out separate applications. When completed, turn in the application to the deacon in charge of membership.

2.  Attend the 3 week membership classes.

The classes are normally held on the first three Sundays mornings (9:30 - 10:30 am) of February, May, August, or November.  Please check the bulletin or online calendar.  During the membership class, you’ll learn a great deal more about the church. You’ll learn Living Hope’s purposes , history, vision, core values, doctrines, bylaws, and structure. You’ll also learn how you can use your gifs, talents, experience and resources to serve.  In addition, you’ll learn what it means to encourage, meet with, and hold accountable other family members.

3.  Participate in the membership ceremony.

At the conclusion of the membership classes, you will be invited to formally join the church through signing a covenant and participating in a ceremony during Sunday service. This normally occurs on the third or fourth Sunday of the month.  There is normally a welcoming luncheon for the new members at the home of Pastor Steve on that day.

For further questions, please contact the person in charge of the membership committee—Ji Gil at jiandnancy@yahoo.com or contact the church office.
