(6:30 PM - 8:30 PM for children)
Thank you for visiting our VBS VOLUNTEER site, and for your interest in serving in this year’s VBS – CAMP R.O.C.K.!
VBS is a summer program for children who are currently in Kindergarten to 5th grade.
To volunteer, you must*:

Be a regular attendee of Living Hope Community Church (currently in high school or above).

Be available to serve for the entirety of the VBS program: June 17-20, 5:30 PM - 9:00 PM.

ATTEND BOTH VOLUNTEER TRAININGS/MEETINGS ON SUNDAY, MAY 18, AND SUNDAY, JUNE 15.

Complete a livescan provided by LHCC on 5/18 (only for volunteers over the age of 18)

Please see below for a brief explanation of each of the areas in which you can be involved.
CREW LEADER
- Lead a crew (about 4-6 children) from station to station.
- Worship with your crew during praise, worship, and rotation times.
- Participate in all the day’s activities while being an example of Christ’s love.
- Crew leaders must be in grade 9 or older.
ASSISTANT CREW LEADER
- Assist the Crew leader in leading a crew (about 4-6 children) from station to station
- Worship with your crew during praise, worship, and rotation times.
- Participate in all the day’s activities while being an example of Christ’s love
- Open to any age group, especially those in grades 6-8
GAMES STATION
- Prepare each day’s games under the guidance of the Team Leader
- Lead games each day
CRAFTS STATION
- Help prepare each day’s experiment and/or craft under the guidance of the Team Leader
- Lead the experiments and/or crafts each day
BIBLE EXPERIENCE STATION
- Help prepare each day’s Bible story, discussion, and response under the guidance of the Team Leader
- Present the Bible story and facilitate follow-up discussions/response
PHOTO
- Take pictures throughout the event following the guidance of the Media Team Lead
SAFETY
- Ensure the safety of all children under the Safety Coordinator
- Ensure a safe and orderly environment
- Provide first aid as needed
- Support with parking and event flow
STAFF SUPPORT
- Help on All-Volunteer Staff meetings (5/18 & 6/15) by setting up and serving lunch to our volunteers.
- Help on VBS event days (6/17-6/20) by setting up and serving dinner to our volunteers.
The following team requires extra meeting/rehearsal times outside of the general volunteer meetings. There are limited spaces and specific skills are necessary. If you are interested in being considered, please mark it on the volunteer form. You will be contacted by the Team Leader. (Must be in grade 9 or older.)
PRAISE TEAM
- Learn and rehearse the choreography with the Team Leader
- Lead children in praise, worship, and dance
- Please note: This team is IN ADDITION TO serving in another team.

Who can volunteer?
In order to volunteer, you must:
- Be a regular attendee of Living Hope Community Church
- Be available to serve for the entirety of the VBS program
- Attend BOTH volunteer meetings
- Complete a live scan to be provided by LHCC.
When are the volunteer meetings?
- Sunday, May 18, 1:00 PM
- Sunday, June 15, 1:00 PM
What if I’m unsure if I can make it on all of those dates?
Register to volunteer as if you can and let Caleb You know ASAP when your availability is confirmed.
What if I’m unable to make one of the meetings?
Please let Caleb You know at the time of your registration by emailing him at caleb.you@livinghopecc.org Please note that the June 15 meeting may NOT be missed.
What is the deadline for volunteer registration?
The sooner you sign up, the better! It will help us prepare the teams accordingly. Registration for both programs will officially close on the date of our first meeting, May 18, 2024.
I signed up to be a volunteer, but am now unable to help. What should I do?
Please let Caleb You know ASAP. He can be reached via email or in person at church.
